the machine is rolling

ok.
The word is out and so far all reports are favorable. I've spoken Mark, one of the lead salesmen and Jake, his boss at Seminole Harley http://www.seminoleharley.com/
and World Famous OJ Marinelli of Ground Zero Race Team http://www.groundzroracing.com/
and Wide Open Brian from the Bar Out Back http://www.thebaroutback.com/
and Wayne "Gonzo" Gonyaw the producer of the new television series called Real American Biker TV ("watch for it on local channel 21"), he tells me.
and Mr. D. Shay of daytona gear (the best tank bags around) http://www.daytonagear.com/
and last but surely not least, i've written to the great Monk at http://www.dixiebiker.com/ . He even agreed to run a blurb about the project in his Veterans Month edition due out in November.

They all agree that this is a worthwhile doable project that needs to get done. With their support to spread the word a solid groundwork is being laid.

I have also spent telephone time with Mr. Al Bailey at Honor Flight national headquarters http://www.honorflight.org/ and found out that the wheels have already started rolling here in Central Florida by Bill Mancinik at 3868431129. He and I spoke with equal excitement about this project. He is trying to enlist his local Rotary Post to act as the required non profit sponsor. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to do what ever they can for this project. Stay tuned...

Now, those last addresses are the starting point to find our heroes. And these next addresses are the Americans who will help pay to show our heroes their respect.

Lets Get This Party Started

Greeetings all.
http://www.honorflight.org/

All good things start somewhere and this is where the blog about the Central Florida Honor Flights starts. After seeing what Hendersonville NC. did for their local WWII heroes, I became inspired to see that happen here in Central Florida. And being as i am a free man that enjoys riding a motorcycle, I envision ALL of the local motorcycle communities supporting this cause. Now i know the motorcycle community as the most giving bunch of good people i've ever met. And i know the tie in between our early motorcycle riders and the WWII men and women coming home from the horrors of war to their free America. If anyone can say "Freedom ain't Free!" It was them. So, once back stateside, they recreated the thrill and roaring death threatning excitement of facing death by saddling up on two wheels and screwin' it on.
Time was of the essence then and time is of the essence now.
April of 04 our government finally opened the National WWII Memorial
http://www.wwiimemorial.com/.

And now we have a vehicle to show our local heroes how much we care and can assist them to actually visit in person their very own, hard earned Memorial. This won't be a quick and easy task, but then, neither was theirs. So now lets rally up and get the word out for lots of volunteers and contacts. Stay tuned here for the latest progress and my two cents.
